Purpose: This article helps you troubleshoot why you might not be receiving push notifications from the Onvive Study App.
Estimated Completion Time: 5-10 minutes
Notifications are Important: Notifications are a key part of your study program, reminding you to engage with the app and continue your progress. It is recommended to keep them enabled.
Steps to Troubleshoot Notifications:
- Check your device's notification settings for the Onvive Study App:
- iPhone: Go to Settings > Notifications. Scroll down and tap on Onvive Study App. Ensure "Allow Notifications" is turned On. Also, check the alert styles (Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners) and make sure Sounds and Badges are enabled.
- Android: Go to Settings > Apps & notifications (or "Apps" or "Applications"). Tap Onvive Study App. Tap Notifications. Ensure "All Onvive notifications" or similar is toggled On. Check individual notification categories if available.
- Check your device's "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" mode:
- If "Do Not Disturb" (Android) or a "Focus" mode (iPhone) is enabled, it can silence notifications. Turn these off temporarily to see if notifications resume.
- Check your device's battery optimization settings (Android only):
- Some Android devices might optimize battery life by restricting app background activity, which can affect notifications.
- Go to Settings > Apps & notifications (or "Apps"). Tap Onvive Study App. Tap Battery or Battery optimization. Ensure the app is not optimized or is set to "Unrestricted" or "Don't optimize."
- Ensure your app is updated: Outdated app versions might have notification issues. Check for updates in your device's app store.
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection: Notifications require an internet connection to be sent and received.
Important Note: The app does not send notifications if you have responded "STOP" to an SMS message from the app.
