Purpose: This article provides general troubleshooting steps for common error messages you might encounter in the Onvive Study App.
Estimated Completion Time: 3-5 minutes
Common Error Messages and What They Mean:
- "You are offline! Please connect to the internet." or "We can not reach our network right now. Please check your connection.": This means your device doesn't have an active internet connection.
- "Request failed with an error. Please check your connection and try again later.": A general network request failed.
- "An error occurred. Please check your connection and try again later.": A general failure message when no other specific error message is triggered.
- "There was an error with our server. Please check your connection and try again later.": This indicates an issue with the app's server, not necessarily your device or internet.
General Troubleshooting Steps for Error Messages:
- Check your internet connection:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi is strong or your cellular data is active. Poor internet is a common cause of "offline" or "network" errors.
- Try opening a web page or another app that requires internet to confirm your connection is working.
- If using Wi-Fi, try restarting your router.
- If using cellular data, try turning airplane mode on and off.
- Restart the Onvive Study App:
- Close the app completely and then reopen it.
- iPhone: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-click the Home button), then swipe the Onvive Study App card upwards to close it.
- Android: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then release to see open apps. Swipe the Onvive Study App card upwards or tap "Clear all" or "Close all apps".
- Restart your device: A full device restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches that might be causing errors.
- Check for app updates: Ensure your Onvive Study App is updated to the latest version. Developers often release updates that fix bugs and improve app stability.
